For each listening activity you are provided with instructions. It is essential that you follow them;
　As in real life, you are listening for a purpose. You may have to listen several times, but each time you will have a different purpose;
　Do not try to understand every word the first time you listen. The meaning will become clearer with each successive task you do;
　Try not to stop the recording unless you really have to in order to complete the task you are working on;
　Do not look at the tapescripts (unless you are advised to do so) until the end of the unit;
　Remember that you are trying to improve your listening skill. If you look at the tapescript without first listening to it, you are reading!!
