The following is written by Yapeng after she hosted a program on 25th of Feb. Thanks for her meaningful thoughts, which make me raise this topic without any hesitations.
How to host a program successfully? It must be a trick but a challenging job. I think my friends surely have some certain thinkings or rich experiences on it, let us learn from each other here. In this way, more and more qualified hosts would be able to offer more and more attractive programs in Channel 9.

◆ Rules and Manners
After some discussion on the rules and manners within the group, we came to agree that the participants should follow the rules below.
Rules
◇Each member of the group works as a host in turn. ◇Each topic should be put on the forum in advance of the meeting. ◇All members must prepare for the topic before attending. ◇New frequent participants are entitled to join us as members. ◇Report and review should be made after discussion.
It is apparent that it’s hard to behave like the above, but it is an aim apart from that of English studying in BWOL. Let’s try our best to be “A Whole Person"

I remember there is another similar topic raised by star_host1, in which many friends left various opinions on how to be a good host too. But i could not find it out for this moment even if I used "search function",unfortunately. if anyone knows, please make a link here. Thanks a lot.

I would like to mention No.4. (四)如何规范抢麦顺序 有些同学的麦克效果不好,又听不到别人的谈话就唐突地插进来,我却无计可施,不知道如何是好。得好好学学VOB手册。
I had problems like this. I just didn't know how to deal with it. Whether I should tell the new comer to hold his voice temporary or I should encourage the new comer. As a matter of fact, I don't want to discourage either one.So I was really confused and when it happened. I remember one time, Changxiao politely and skillfully persuade one very talkative student to stop talking and listen to other people. That really impressed me. I found there are quite a lot I need to learn from him.
And there is one more thing I would like to address here. Just correct me if I am wrong.
In my opinion, English speaking is essential to the program. If people like to speak Chinese, as far as I am concerned, it is a waste of our valuable time.

Thanks Dongmei's exact link to a former topic named "how to be a good host", it might took you much time, right? Dongmei's eyes are much brighter and sharper than mine. Thanks again.

What do you think ?
Dear Louhai,
I get some to say about your opinion: To me I think that we are learners of English, sometimes it's difficult for us to express ourselves in English. If we want to tell others more clearly what we thought, we have to turn Chinese for help. Of course, we should try our best to speak in English as long as we can find proper words to show our ideas to other learners. The main purpose of us is to enhance the ablity in speaking English, we have to use as little Chinese as possible till we may express the ideas to others in English completely.
In the program speaking in Chinese is tolerated. Especially for the beginners.

Thanks Changxiao for sharing your opinion.
Sometimes, I do feel that English can not express what I want to say. In order to make myself clear, I have to shift to Chinese thinking. Or my Chinese thinking was the dominated thinking pattern on my mind. That is very true of beginners. However, I also realized that getting use of Chinese thinking will adversely affect our english learning. Eventually,we will develop the bad habit of thinking in Chinese and then tranlating it in English.
So maybe the conclusion is what you just said, Try not to use Chinese at any possible.

Yes try speak less Chinese in the program for English practising, though it takes time to develop the habit of thinking in English. If we can't find the suitable words to express in English, we may ask others for help or consult dictionaries later.
