开贴明意

英语修辞学是专业英语中的一们基本课程。
缺什么补什么，本地基贴、及以下系列地上建筑，无意妨碍与网院教材的相邻关系，彼此的盖楼方式、材料组合不一样而已。
所以， 本人权在实践某教育家谆谆教诲：“读书不是读教科书”。

亦当是读书摘要，与友共享。

1.修辞与语法， 有密切的关系， 但有区别
Francis Christensen说：

Grammer is the law of language, considered as language; rhetoric is the art of language, considered as thought.

Grammer tells what is correct;rhetoric tells what is effective and pleasing.

17世纪末英国哲学家John Locke 曾经把修辞称做“演说术”（the science of oratory）,是“说话得体、优美和有力的艺术”（the art of speaking with propriety, elegance, and force）

因此，在希腊语，拉丁语、法语、西班牙语及意大利语中， rhetoric 这个次的词根都是“说话”的意思。

以下从做中觉悟：

题1：
有个学生想以青年成家后的住房问题为线索， 写一篇文章。 需要拟订文章标题， 他最初拟订的是：
“A Way out for the homeless couples”

但是， 他后来进行了修正。 你认为他可能改成怎样了？


题2：
以下6句最普通的句子， 你认为哪些是亲昵的表达方式，那哪些是地位高的人对地位低的人委婉的表达方式， 哪些最有可能带有“贬”意的色彩？

A.Close the door, dear
B.Whould you be so kind to close the door?
C.It is a bit cold here.Can you close the door?
D.Would you like to close the door for me?
E.I would be glad if you could close the door?
F.Would you mind closing the door?

题目3
“我们的改革开放政策取得了很大的成功”
有人翻译为：“Our policies of reform and opening to the outside world have won great successes”

你认为这样的翻译正确吗？ 提示： 请注意英语的思维逻辑。

你认为这样的翻译正确吗？ 提示： 请注意英语的思维逻辑。

答案如下：
1. “A Way out for the HOUSELESS couples”
（不必解释为什么了吧，真是不说想不到，说出来竟不言而喻）

2.A、B,亲昵的表达方式，
D、E地位高的人对地位低的人委婉的表达方式，
F， “很有可能”带有“贬”的色彩！
（自己读出来试试）

3.should be: We have successes for our reform and open policies.
or: Great successes have been won for our reform and open polices.
原因：以汉语为母语的人注重思维形态上的主体性， 认为任何行为都只可能是人这个行为主体完成的，因此行为主体“尽在不言中”。这种思维方式使汉语句子的主、被动语态呈隐含式，形成“受事”的“施事”化。
这同英语于中施事、受事并用的表现法形成了对照。
题目中显示的不当翻译是因为不符合英语的逻辑思维造成的。

虽然基本语法还没有掌握，咱也先熏陶一下修辞,the art of speaking with propriety,elegance,and force.

答案中没有C，C是不是地位高的人对地位低的人委婉的表达方式。

想起来罗马假日了，公主说的话和平民的就很不一样，体现了她的身份。
说明翻译得很到位。
