在商务英语中，return可作“盈利”、“收益”、“汇报”解，多数情况下用复数。

 

如：business return：营业收入；

small profits and quick returns：薄利多销；

l         Companies seek higher returns by investing in other corporations.

各公司通过向其他股份公司投资谋求更高的利润。

 

returns在商务英语中还可作“退货”解。

l         He began working on his salesman samples, sorting out broken packages and returns.

他开始整理他的那些推销货样，把包装破损的和退回来的捡出来。

 

不要把returns和 turnover混淆起来。Turnover指“营业额”、“成交量”，即在给定的时间期间成交的总额。

 

This deal promises big returns（赚大钱）for both sides.  Let's hope it's the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship.
