Ladies and gentlemen,

It's amazing I'm standing here today to share with you, my dear tutors, teachers, and my fellow “Beiwaionliners”, the great joy of accomplishment. We did it!

But, four years back, I was not sure if I could do it. I knew I had passed the entrance exams all right, but I didn't know what was the coming next because online education was a whole new thing to me.

I realized that it was time for me to make up for the academic knowledge that I had missed during my early days in school, now that I had the chance to study in one of the best universities in our country. I knew that the major part of my new school life would be linked to a computer screen, and I learned to love this new way of learning.

It wasn't easy to keep going though, because you don't always have a teacher with a great sense of humor standing in front of you, tell you interesting things behind the seemingly boring text, and you don't have classmates sitting next to you to help you with questions or some thing s like that.

But I cherished the freedom of time management. I could set up my own study schedule; I could make my own decision on when to or not to study. With a click of the mouse I could log on to the school platform whenever I wanted to tap the great pool of academic resources, including video, audio and text files.

But those were far from enough. We still need a combination of modern and traditional ways. Fortunately we had tutorials with the excellent teachers who made our courses more impressive and understandable. Unfortunately, I missed a lot of tutorials because of my messy job schedule, but the ones that I attended surely helped a lot.

The process sounded cool but was incredibly boring sometimes. Facing the difficult books and tough exams, I almost wanted to give up for many times. But I would not spend loads of money to attend the university just to prove I was a failure. I believed that if I hold held on, I would make it.

Little by little, my skills in writing and reading were improved. This helped s me a lot in my job. As a journalist in CCTV international, writing and reading are vital to my professional practice everyday. With the improved skills, I could write better scripts, and it has become easier for me to understand a script from overseas news agencies. Also, because I've listened so many times to the videotapes of our courses, my pronunciation has got better and better in my news reading, which has been acknowledged by my colleagues and TV viewers.

Now, my fellow schoolmates, we have all made it and so let's celebrate this moment. But I want to take this special occasion to thank our tutors. My gratitude goes to you, because without your enthusiastic and effective guidance we'd have accomplished nothing.

Looking into the future, I'm sure online education will get more popular day by day, and I'm sure our university will continue to handle it great well , and better. I don't think getting a bachelor's degree should be the end of study. We should live to learn. I wish you all the best and urge you to keep up the good spirit. Beiwaionline is already one of the flagships in distant English education, and I believe you will do an even better job in the new semester to come. Let's join hands to make successful stories one after another.

Thank you.
