Because of the need of work, I want to improve my English. However, after I graduated from college, I got married and had children. There is very little time to learn for us who have to work and have a family. However, we really want to be promoted in career. We know that our English is far from enough, but we don't have enough time to go to class in life. This has become a stagnant status quo for me. I feel very distressed until one day when I have got a good opportunity.
An accidental opportunity to contact with BeiwaiOnline let me realize that there can be such a new way to improve myself, which is really a very good opportunity for me to learn online! At the moment when I received the admission notice and became a student at BeiwaiOnline, I made up my mind: I would cherish this learning opportunity.
But the road of learning is full of difficulties, and there are many obstacles.
The first is that it's hard to get into the learning state. I have been working for several years, and I don't have a solid English foundation. At the beginning, it is always very difficult to complete the learning progress. I once wanted to give up. Later, with the help of the tutor, I made a study plan according to my own actual situation, and allocated my study time reasonably and effectively, which gradually entered the state of taking care of my family and squeezing time to study.
Secondly, because I haven't insisted on systematic learning for a long time, I may have to memorize the words that others can remember twice, and I may need 15 minutes to read the articles that others can read in five minutes. When writing English sentences, it's common to have slow reaction and misspelled words. What's more, ideas tend to break down. Sometimes, learning may be interrupted by the sudden jumpping out of the "what food do children eat?" and so on. And the worst thing is to be afraid of speaking English not idiomatically, but have mistakes, and this may be laughed at by others. In the process of overcoming such difficulties, the mutual encouragement among my classmates has provide me with great strength. I have also made more friends while studying the course at BeiwaiOnline.
As the thinker and educator Xunzi mentioned, learning can't be done without a process of continuous learning and self-improvement. After working, one can realize this more deeply. After nearly one year's learning at BeiwaiOnline, I realized that the learning experience not only has improved my professional level, but also has increased my insight and broadened my horizon. At the same time, it has also improved my ability of autonomous learning and has tempered my will and quality to overcome difficulties. It will be the most precious treasure in my life.
